Hi everyone! I had LBL March 9, 2018 and everything went well although I had a stubborn spot on my left hip that would not close. We removed stitches several times (3 - 4 times) and it still wouldn't close. My PS tried silver pads, inadine pads and finally debriding (scraping the surface with a scalpel to get rid of dead skin and promote healing) and then silver nitrate sticks to burn/cauterize the open area.
I was so nervous about necrosis and/or infection and was getting frustrated not understanding why it wouldn't close. Finally I noticed another stitch that surfaced. I pulled it (as per the direction of my PS) and it was longer than my middle finger in length. After removing that last stitch it closed within a few days! What!? I am so happy!
I am officially a stitch spitter, lol.
If you have a spot try to be patient. I was told it would close and they were right but I was feeling pretty down about it over the past few weeks. Looks like I'll be swimming this summer - yea!

GAH!!! I had a 3/4" spot open up on my LBL line in front with yellow gunk coming out. Why did I do this again?!?!
I was cleared for all workouts starting at 6 weeks, but it was probably closer to 12 weeks before I really hit my core hard. I was running again at 8 weeks though.

When did you start exercises that involved the core muscles? I am 2 weeks out from surgery and still limited to walking no more than 6 blocks twice a day. I am going nuts, but am compliant because I want good results.

...and yes, I have one flat hip. No idea what's up with that bone

...especially if you start some core workouts when you're cleared. This is 8 weeks, 12 weeks, and 16 weeks post op!
