I just had a panniculectomy a few days ago and the binder is a pain and I absolutely hate the drain tubes! I am sleeping in a recliner and can't wait to get back to sleeping in my bed once the drains come out! How long was it before you could sit bent over? I hope that I can stop wearing the binder soon. I am high functioning autistic and can't stand the change to my routine.
Dr. Sauceda definitely IS operating in Monterrey Mexico and is fantastic as always
. He did a LBL on me about seven years ago after I'd successfully kept my weight off about four years and it still looks great .
I had similar issues to yours - lax skin in the thighs some jiggly fat in the knees ... " foof" in the abdomen and love handles ... which were addressed with liposuction and an inner thigh lift and bellybutton repositioning . Though I still need upper body work the results were and remain beautiful. Good luck choosing your surgeon ! ((()))
All you can really do is wear concealing clothing or ignore it. When I want to disguise my dragon wings, I have worn compression long sleeve shirts, but I've given up on that because they are now a part of me. I like thin fitting tanks under my shirts because they smooth and conceal heardle game
Hi I see you are in my area MV and wanted to hop in and say while I have not had any reconstructive surgery done I am also looking into it. I am planning on attending the conference in costa mesa this year and was told they do free consultations with a plastic surgeon this might help you to get an idea of cost. I am hoping that is the case for me as I will have to pay for it all out of pocket myself. Best of luck to you.
I'd never heard the term "circular tummy tuck" and just googled it. It's also the same as a lower body lift.
belt lipectomy is the same as a lower body lift.
also, most people have 5 lbs or less of excess skin - it weighs a lot less than you'd think. I lost over 200 lbs and I think my excess skin weighed around 4 lbs.
I'm not familiar with Dr. Soberanes, but check reviews. A lot of weight loss surgery patients have gone to Dr. Laura Carmina Cardenas in Tijuana. She specializes in plastic surgery for massive weight loss patients and also is a bariatric patient herself! Dr. Francisco Sauceda in Monterrey is also very familiar to those of us on OH - not sure if he's still in practice or not though. He also specializes in plastic surgery for massive weight loss patients.
Hi y'all! I had a gastric sleeve in Mexico almost two years ago. Now I have reached my goal weight, almost. I'm 165 lbs. Should be about 150 lbs, so now I'm planning to lose those extra lbs by getting my lose skin removed.
Needless to say, after losing like 55 lbs since I started my weight loss, my buttocks lost volume and my thighs too. My inner thighs same story. Anyways, thing is I am considering a lower body lift, which here in the US is costing me about $25K, which I can't afford.
I have been following Dr Sergio Soberanes for a few years. He's located in Tijuana. He used to work for this weight loss surgery booking company, don't recall the name, so he did a lot of work on after weight loss surgery patients. That is how I learned about him. He stopped working with that business many years ago, but I continued to follow his work.
What I'd like to know is if someone on this site has had work done by him. How was the experience, how was the outcome of the surgery, what procedures that member had done by him. I understand he does the procedure I'm looking for. Now many plastic surgeons in Mexico do it. I have been researching with other doctors and the most they offer me to help me improve my lower body is a circular tummy tuck or belt lipectomy. A lower body lift does way more than those procedures. I understand it will be higher in cost than those procedures, but the benefits to me are worth it. It doesn't matter if I pay a bit more, but the results will help me look better and that is worth to me.
So if anyone has had this procedure in Mexico, by this Dr Soberanes, or by any other doctor in Mexico, please share with me the name, and any social media where I can see results and find out about prices, etc. Thank you
I am a VSG patient. I will look into your surgeon. I have been wanting an LBL, but can hardly afford to get it done in the US. I'm also considering going abroad, to Mexico specifically. Not sure I will pay much less than in the US actually, but I have learned from other WLS patients on other boards, their results are great and prices were accessible.
I have been looking into Dr Sergio Soberanes in Tijuana. A bandster friend had an LBL by him a few years ago, and back them I remember seeing her results and she looked amazing. What I most liked was the flawless incision. I know everyone scars differently, but his work looked so neat. Anyone has had experience having surgery by him? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated :)

I understand how you feel about the incompetence of the responsible doctor. But all is well, now just work hard to eat, exercise, I think you will recover quickly. Fighting girl!
Roulette,
I lost from 319 to 84 lbs and I was absolutely disgusted everytime I looked in the mirror. I kept thinking if I lose a little more, I'll feel better about myself but what I was seeing was skin (that needed plastic surgery) and what I was going through was body dysmorphia. You may think you look terrible but it's not bad. I do believe as bariatric patients in order for us to complete this journey we need to fini**** including making our bodies look normal again. As I was underweight I was almost put on a feeding tube but I started eating again. And gained weight, more than I wanted, so I've got about 40 lbs to my goal weight but my Dr. wants to go ahead and start with the panniculectomy and abdominalplasty. Plus some breast skin removal. But I have had a lot of rashes and have a hernia. I think that the bariatric community as a "whole" should bring light to having body dysmorphia, how it affects our mental well being, why is skin removal considered cosmetic surgery. There are always going to be people out there debating that but we qualified for a medical weight loss surgery which was successful-now we need to fix what is left behind.
My suggestion to you is to call your bariatric surgeon and see if they have a counsellor you can talk to and tell the why. Some times they can code things in ways to help you get the surgery you need. It may not be all of it but if it's the biggest parts it's worth it. And the counsellor can provide back up how this is affecting you mentally. My surgeons office has lawyers that are there specifically for fighting with insurance companies over this stuff.
Good luck. Look at how far you've come. You worked for it. You are beautiful no matter what. You have to love the person inside before you can except the person outside. Sending prayers for you.
