I also scoff when people make some comment about gym fees and how they should just run because it's "free". Psssssh.

My boss was admiring my running shoes one day and asked where I got them. I told her I always go to Fleet Feet. She then comes back to tell me that she went there and bought exactly the same pair of shoes because she "loved the color". Funny enough, I've had the most hideous colors because I have them fit me, choose the pair that fits/works the best and then I buy the one color they stock no matter what it is. Luckily, I have a good idea at this point which brand/model is going to work for me, but I seriously don't care at all about color.

Yeah.. Lance, my runner bff, and I always joke that our favorite color is always the same. It's called "the cheapest color." :)

And feet are so different and shoes are so different! I would never buy a pair just because someone else had them. My feet might hate them.

At 4.5 years after surgery, I am ready to Dr. Voung's straight talk. Listen to the end. He has tips for how New Mexico now covers some skin removal surgery. It may give you some ideas to document the medical need some some surgery.

I covered some with cash and then the rest with a personal loan. I also took out a new credit card with a large bonus for spending a certain amount in the first 90 days. I put it on the credit card and then paid it off with the cash/loan money immediately. Between the bonus and the points I got about $1,500 back that way.

Also, shop around. I learned that plastic surgery has a different price tag depending on where you live. My surgeon charged $12,000 when he did a tummy tuck in Boston, MA and charged $5,000 for the same surgery in Youngstown, OH.

To go the insurance route you need to work with the plastic surgeon and submit you evidence of rashes, appointments to treat it, and the prescriptions used.
