Breast lift and Xiphoid Process
on 7/27/18 4:02 pm
Has. anyone who had breast lifts or breast enhancement had their xiphoid process fixed at the same time? Apparently obese people often have protruding xiphoids as a result of their visceral fat. It doesn't show so much when we are heavy as it is masked. But now that I have lost weight it sticks out sharply and looks very weird. I know it's not dangerous. It does not hurt. But I really hate how it looks, and thought maybe it could be fixed when I do my breasts. Haven't had the consult yet. Will ask the surgeon of course. But thought I would ask the community too.

I don't know anyone who has had that done. Even with losing 200 pounds, mine does not protrude.
Keep us posted. I am curious to hear what your surgeon says.

The xiphoid can protrude a lot at the tail end of weight loss, but it seems to disappear after a while. It's one of the many reasons most surgeons prefer people to be stable at goal weight for a year before plastics.
