LBL - spot closed 12 weeks post op
Hi everyone! I had LBL March 9, 2018 and everything went well although I had a stubborn spot on my left hip that would not close. We removed stitches several times (3 - 4 times) and it still wouldn't close. My PS tried silver pads, inadine pads and finally debriding (scraping the surface with a scalpel to get rid of dead skin and promote healing) and then silver nitrate sticks to burn/cauterize the open area.
I was so nervous about necrosis and/or infection and was getting frustrated not understanding why it wouldn't close. Finally I noticed another stitch that surfaced. I pulled it (as per the direction of my PS) and it was longer than my middle finger in length. After removing that last stitch it closed within a few days! What!? I am so happy!
I am officially a stitch spitter, lol.
If you have a spot try to be patient. I was told it would close and they were right but I was feeling pretty down about it over the past few weeks. Looks like I'll be swimming this summer - yea!

HW - 280. Opti start - 280. Surgery day - 266. CW - 142.
4 inches on one thigh, 2 on the other, and 2 on my LBL. Apparently my body doesn't care for plastic surgery... It makes me very scared to even consider doing my arms.
