Congrats!!! I had a consult with Dr Katzen last month and really liked him. Now I'm trying to figure out when to have surgery and which procedures first. Are you staying at his recommended recovery center, and if so, for how long?

Ugh last two days have been hell. Not sure how anyone goes home after 2 nights. I'm signed up for 5 and will see about staying longer.

I can't get comfortable and find I'm choking on phlegm most of the time and coughing is a ***** Getting up is worse.

I was surprised how much my lungs were affected by the anesthesia. I kept going into coughing fits and feeling like I couldn't breathe. That only lasted for maybe 24 hours though before it was better.

It's when my angle gets too low and I'm drinking protein shakes the phlegm builds up not much this evening though. Yay

They are full so I'm going home tomorrow morning ready or not! Ready to try the recliner instead of the adjustable bed that takes three people to get me up. Ugh.

Wishing you the best for your return home! I don't understand how people do major PS outpatient! When I was having consults, I had several surgeons tell me that I could have an LBL+ and go home straight from their recovery room! I have to admit that it was a deal breaker for me.

I will only be in the hospital until about noon the day after surgery, but I really hope that it helps me to be able to get a little more mobile and stable.

I did end up investing in a power-lift recliner that will be my home for a while.

outpatient would be crazy and puts an unnecessary burden on your home caregiver I think. This aftercare place is awesome. I wish I'd thought to stay longer!

CONGRATULATIONS! You look incredible. As uncomfortable as it may be, that "tight" feeling must also be exciting!

So sorry to hear you are uncomfortable. I am sure it will get better day by day. I am a bit nervous myself hearing your experience with recovery, I am set to be in a hospital overnight after surgery and then transfer (if I choose) to a recovery center for one day afterwards. But you stayed a whole 5 days and were wishing for more!! Scary.

Hope you feel better soon and keep updating us!! I would love to see more pics of your progress!

Honestly tight is not exciting right now. It hurts, is mostly gas swelling, surgery swelling, and overly tight compression garments.

Please stay longer if you can unless you have someone seriously capable of caring for you full time. I've had 3 friends come by today for help and another is coming tonight. And it's just plain uncomfortable everywhere even drugged. And alone you really can't do anything about it!

and I think my left knee hurts the most! From the lipo. The right not at all. Go figure.
