This makes me happy! I?m only 2 weeks post op and still have the butt crack and high butt. I know it will drop, but the exposed butt crack was a surprise. I?m up 2 pant sizes so I?m hoping when the swelling goes down that I will drop back down to my regular size.

also dr Nandagopal.

The open butt crack and high butt were a shock to me too. I freaked right out. I spent so much time researching the LBL I didn't put much thought into the fat transfer at all.

I see improvement in mine and apparently we're going to love it lol so we'll just have to give it time

Were you at his Vaughan clinic?

Yep...Vaughn clinic. Was a much better surgical recovery experience than I've ever had. Would totally recommend them. Dr Al-habib has been fanstastic with the follow up.

I couldn't agree more! I was also out of the Vaughan clinic and they've been amazing. Great after care too. Just text my question and they respond. Dr. Al-Habib called 2 or three times once I was home and Dr. Nandagopal call once. People I've told can't believe the surgeon called to check on me! I would also highly recommend this clinic!!

I thought about sharing a (censored) picture of my butt back then and I figured I'd scare everyone away, LOL. It was truly awful at first and now it looks totally normal.

My final spot is just now scabbed over completely and not open and I'll be 10 weeks on Monday. So those spots could take a good while to close! Similarly, my butt finally doesn't hurt anymore and I'm not feeling (much) more tired anymore. I'm back to running and although I can feel it in different areas it's not making me super sore or anything. I'm still noticing a fair amount of swelling at the end of each day but I'm not wearing compression anymore, even after work outs.

This is helpful, thank you. I was wondering why these spots are taking so long to close. Well, they aren't even really open but rather just weeping. The incision line hasn't separated or anything.

I'm looking forward to exercising again! I realize it will take a while to rebuild my strength and stamina but looking forward to getting started. Few more weeks.

Did you stop wearing compression after week 6? Did you transfer from binder to spanx type products? I asked my surgeon if I could purchase a second binder so I could wash one without going without and he said there was no need as I'd only be in the binder for 3 weeks then switch to spanx type products but that was at week 1. I forgot to ask if I can switch but haven't texted because I don't feel ready. I still like the security of the tightness.

Dr al habib told me to start taking binder breaks in week 3 and 4 and be completely off in week 5. They want you to build strength back up. Not become reliant on the binder for support.

I wore a binder for 8 days and then a surgical compression garment until around 5 weeks (I was told to wear it 23 hours per day until 4 weeks, but I wasn't ready to take it off). Then I switched to normal 'store bought' compression wear. I ended up settling on these:

Maiden Form Corset Compression

I'll be 10 weeks out on Monday and I now am not wearing compression, except in the form of high waisted compression pants when I work out. I still have plenty of swelling in the evenings on days I've worked out hard or sometimes just for no reason at all. I will put the compression on occasionally but don't feel I need it anymore most of the time. I absolutely felt like I needed the security for longer than 3-4 weeks. At some point, I just started feeling better about not having it. Maybe around week 8 or so?

Hi there,

i am now 4 weeks out from lbl. I now have not quite an opening but an indent on my back right on the spine. The PS says i said put neosporin daily and keep it covered and hopefully 2 weeks wil heal. I have had a couple of smaller ones that took a week to heal. So after all that my real questions is when where you able to start running again.

thank you,

Bonnie
