What did your PS cost if insurance didn't cover it? I used the search function but didn't see any recent threads on this. I'm especially interested in the cost of LBL, TT, and BL. Thank you!

Insurance covered nothing for me and each of my procedures averaged about $7-8000 all total. The LBL counted as two procedures in terms of pricing.

That said, it varies significantly by area and surgeon.

Thank you. As someone who's been on OH for a while, do you think having PS helps with long term weight maintenance?

There are a number of scientific studies out there that indicate it does. So I'm trusting those!

I had fewer procedures than Gwen, same doctor. Mine averaged out to about $8,500/each (with LBL counting as 2).

I want the same as you had plus arms! Legs are okay. With Dr M! Will not do it unless with him. Although from instagram and videos he is very cute!!! lol might be intimidating!

I would estimate higher than that. I paid $26k for the LBL and BL. For one more procedure you can probably add $6-$7k maybe?

Good to know... I was told by Leah (on phone and I am sure not written in stone , rough estimate) $11k for LBL (total) and arms at same time would be $4k additional....$15k total (discount given for doing all at once).

She said if separate would be $7k for arms. Told me figure $7k for each, as you said, with exception of the discount I mentioned above due to doing at same time.

iwas at first only asking about LBL and arms for now ....I then discussed BL as well, which would be my last priority, a nice to have but not as much. She said could probably do all 3 at once she thinks but Dr. M would know for sure. Based on what she told me I figured another $6 or $7k which would bring to $21k or $22k (was guessing $6k for BL as thought maybe another discount if at same time? I never got the price for all 3 at same time). Lot to think about!

Thanks!

I had the same doctor as Gwen and Erin ;) We all adore him and I likely paid the same (though I don't remember).

My only advice as you do consults and get pricing...I found it imperative to go to a plastic surgeon who specializes in PS and body contouring after massive weight loss. The type of tummy tuck a person who lost 150 lbs needs is quite different than for someone who had 2 kids and can't lose the pooch. So keep that in mind as you shop around!

I definitely think having paid out of pocket for plastics helps keep me on the (mostly) straight and narrow. I mean, I don't want to be out all that cash and gain 100 lbs back.

Totally agreed about the out of pocket thing. Money is a HUGE motivator for me. The idea of "wasting" that money is nauseating to me.
