How do you know when it's time?
Hi everyone! How do you know when it's time for skin removal surgery? I have lost over 200 pounds and have maintained the loss for a while. I had surgery over 15 years ago, but I never really got down to what some would consider "thin" if that makes sense. I am content with where I am, I just wish I did not have the extra skin. Are there any larger folks here who underwent skin removal surgery? Any advice, comments, thoughts? Thanks!
(I'll reply to your message soon.)
For me, I knew it was time because of scheduling. I'm not at my final, ultimate goal, but I'm close enough that I was willing to take the risk. But doing it all in the second half of 2017 is what made the most sense for my life due to my college schedule and desire to get working in my field.

I had surgery very quickly after my WLS - I was only 13 months out. Many people would disagree with my decision but I was at goal for 6 months and I had a potential (now reality) major life change coming that would throw a wrench in my ability to have the surgery in the following couple of years. For me, it was something that was really important for my self-confidence and also for my ability to work out comfortably. I think it was an easy decision for me because I went into WLS knowing I would get PS.
