Can't wait to hear all about it. My legs are a mess and I haven't even lost much weight yet.

As for the shower, could you sit in a chair and swing your legs around and over the tub?

You know, I've got a shower stool from the first surgery. I wonder if I could put that sideways and sit on it from outside the tub and then swing my legs over with help? It seems like the main movements I want to avoid are abduction at the hips. It's worth experimenting with. I know showers make me feel human so it'd suck to not be able to for a week or more!

Honestly, me too :) My partner asked if I should get knee braces to prevent bending at the knee. But my surgeon says the knee won't be the issue and that openings tend to happen at the groin if they happen.

It sounds like the incision will be taken from my LBL incision down the inside of my groin next to my mons, and then down the middle of the medial side of my leg. Crazy to think about.

Maybe I should just get a strap to tie my legs together mid-thigh so I don't accidentally spread my legs. (Which sounds like something a skeevy politician would say about sexual assault victims.) :/

Wierd-ish question (because I'm planning to do the same in the spring): Are you required (or planning) to shave/laser/wax your genital area? Because of the incisisions, healing, bandages and general trying-to-keep-damp area dry? I'm thinking they'd probably shave the labia anyways? and hair regrowth from shaving - yikes!

What's your take?

I've learned that when it comes to plastic surgery, no question is too weird. A friend asked "does the mons lift put your pubic hair higher on your abdomen?" Which, on the one hand is a funny question but, on the other hand, it's a totally legitimate concern and, seriously, who else/where else can you ask these questions? :D

I asked my surgeon about shaving and his instructions were that I should shave as normal and just to avoid shaving three days prior to surgery due to risk of nicks, etc. (I'd imagine the same would go for waxing or any other treatment, since they all can damage/abrade the skin in their own way.)

I plan to NAIR IT ALL prior to surgery. Well, not my labia because nair+mucus membrane seems bad. They'll shave anything they need to once I'm under. But I figure Nair will last longer than shaving.

I didn't ask about hair regrowth for the leg incisions. That would have been smart to ask about but it didn't cross my mind. For what it's worth, I haven't had any issue with my LBL incision and my pubic hair which goes right up to that incision. And I've only got like 10 armpit hairs total left from the brachioplasty... so who knows about that.

This was a really long rambling post that basically amounts to "I dunno, should have asked, you should ask, I'll let you know after I get it done." :D

Thanks for the info. FWIW: my mons did come up a bit after my abdominoplasty as she said she'd be lifting it a bit. I'd had the upper mons lasered the width of a razor beforehand so it's look fairly normal now (to me).

I get my inner thighs and bikini line lasered but was definitely curious about the 'lips'. I call those hairs the redwoods because of my age, their thickness and the fact they haven't been touched ever except for one unfortunate and painful waxing attempt many years ago. I may just suck it up and laser them a bit. Then again, NAIR FTW!

Take care.
