Nipple pain post-breast work?

Whenever I get cold, my left nipple hurts a lot. My mastopexy incisions encircle my areola, so I assume that this is because cold = skin contraction = incision tugging = pain.

Did any of you experience this?

No idea on plastics, but I experienced this pain after my piercings for a solid number of months. I'm thinking maybe there's a specific nerve it's pulling on in your case?

Way delayed reply, but this is what the surgeon confirmed. Likely just a nerve reconnection issue that will resolve with time!

No, I never had that issue. I'm sure it will get better as time goes by.

I must say I was so excited to still be able to feel my nipples after my lift. My surgeon had to remove so much skin to get them up where they needed to be I was afraid I would lose sensation. Thankfully that was not the case for me.

My nipples are maybe even more sensitive post-op than they were pre-op. It's pretty awesome :D

I actually lost some sensation in my left nipple. It's not completely numb, but it's much less sensitive than it was pre-lift. My right nipple is fine and doesn't have any loss of feeling.

No. Sadly I have the opposite experience.

No feeling at all around 3 months post-op, but my doctor tells me this this is normal and that most women do get sensation back over time. I'm reeeeeally hoping this is the case.

I was actually hoping I'd be in the "over-sensistive camp." :P

Gwen, I'm having my breast lift on 11/3 with no implants. I wanted to know the level of pain and my surgeon who did my TT said, "compared to TT which was a 10 in pain my breast lift will be a 2!" Is this true? Was the pain for your breast reduction less evasive? I'm also having my eye-lids lifted at the same time as my breast lift.

For sure on the breast lift. My lift is definitely like a 2 compared to the FIFTY BILLION AND TEN that was the lower body lift (specifically the muscle tightening).

No idea about the eyelids. A friend of mine recently had that procedure and her biggest complaint was that she didn't want to leave the house, and definitely not with her partner, because she was worried people would think he had beaten her. She looks great now, though!

I should add that the only pain I have with my breasts now is this pain when I get cold. I should remember to ask my surgeon about this tomorrow.
