The joke is on me!
I've had a really easy time with swelling post-op. Super easy.
Until the last few weeks. And, suddenly, my LBL and arms have started swelling like crazy. I'm 126 days post-op and I'm back to wearing compression sleeves and compression briefs, at least at night, because it's super uncomfortable. What gives, body?!
I'm sure some of it must be due to diet, which has not been on point recently. And the extra activity I've had. And the extra car rides that require sitting for long periods of time. But still. Super annoying :P
Everything else is going well with recoveries, though. I'm 56 days out from my UBL/mastopexy and all healed up which means I'll be able to hot tub and canoe this weekend. I can't wait! My boobs are looking awesome and I'm totally thrilled with being a 32D. It's weird that they feel so much smaller than before, when my brain tells me a D-cup is still large.
Next (and last) surgery is in 27 days and I can't wait. Although I'm a bit nervous about how I'll be able to do things since my incisions will go beyond my knees to my calves. I'm borrowing a lift chair from a friend and I'm considering whether I should get a taller toilet seat thing. I have one already, but I'm worried it won't be tall enough. I feel like I need to practice sitting on the toilet without bending my legs at the knee at all. Clearly I should be working on building arm strength right now!
And I have a feeling I won't be able to shower because I've only got a tub+shower, not a walk-in shower. My surgeon said, "guess you'll just smell." :P I have huge body wipes designed for camping, so hopefully I can avoid smelling, but it's going to suck to not be able to shower! I can see getting a hotel room for a night just to use a walk-in shower. Pretty sure none of my friends have first floor walk-in showers either.. except my mom, but she's a 3 hour car drive away.

I stayed in a hotel for the first week and had a walk in shower. After that, I went home and had no problem getting in my tub/shower to take a shower. I feel that I could have done it earlier. I really don't think you will have a problem. I could still bend my knees. It was the pulling feeling at the top that was more uncomfortable.
Sorry you're having the swelling. Hope it settles down quickly. I bet it will.

Did your incisions go down your calves as well?

Mine went past my knees but stopped there. But the incisions definitely went past the joint.
If I ever have the surgery again I will see about getting longer incisions. My calves are bad. And unfortunately my legs took the brunt of my regain. They need some work. I just can't decide if I want to go through it again now that I am in my late 50s. I will give it some time.

Awesome, thank you. This is reassuring!
