Recent Post-Ops: Check In!
A friend of mine asked something similar on FB and here's what I wrote to her:
Hm. So with the LBL I wanted/needed to be propped up once I was able to sleep in bed. I think you could achieve the same thing with this either with a wedge pillow under this pillow (at the top) or with a bunch of normal pillows under it or on top of it at the top. Without added "lift," I think this would have you too flat post-LBL. But WITH added lift, I think it'd be fine, since you'll also want the "must sleep on back" aspect.
To get out of bed, I've been able to push one of the sides of this pillow off the bed and then sort of roll out of bed. (Since you won't be able to get out of bed in the "I'm doing a sit up" manner that you might do now.) (Does that make sense?)
Will it replace a recliner? I dunno. I used one of those "zero gravity lawn chairs" during recovery from my LBL and I needed help getting out of it (and into it) for the first week. It's really, really hard to change positions when your core is non-functional :P

Another vote for the zero gravity lawn chair. I didn't have a recliner, didn't want to buy a recliner (small NYC apartment) and this $45 purchase on Amazon was a God-send. I really can't imagine recovering from my tummy tuck without it.

Yay! Sounds like your recovery is going well! As for me...meh.
I'll be 6 weeks post-op on Friday, and it already looks like there will be a small revision to my TT in the not-so-distant future. My left side has been stubborn during this process - it's the side I had my drain in for a month. Well, after drain was taken out, I thought I had a seroma. Not a seroma, but my doctor felt harder lumps under my skin that are likely leading to my uneven tummy. He mentioned going in in like 3 months or so to remove and re-tighten the skin. All free-of-charge and can be done without going under...though I don't know if I can deal with that. He thinks it's nothing at all to worry about (like a hematoma), but believes it could just be to a sort of "pooling" of tissue post-lipo?
As far as my breasts, the left one has dropped a lot more than the right. The right one is still riding high, but my doctor assures me he sees progress...as slow as it may be. I realize it takes like 3-6 months for implants to "fluff and drop" but I'm like, "Come ON already!"
So, overall my journey is slower than most, it seems, but I still absolutely am SO glad I went through with it, slow boobs and impending revisions. :) Hope to get cleared for exercise at my follow-up next week!

I absolutely felt my swelling continued to go down subtly after LBL well into the 90 day mark...
Even though you feel great you did just have major surgery.... like 2 weeks after one of the surgeries I went to the aquarium with my DIL and grandkids. I forget what started to happen exactly- swelling/pain... his response - take it easy you are not that far out...

Oh totally. I know that the swelling is still there, just stating that it's at the point where I'm not aware of it. I think the curve I saw was that swelling is like exponential decay. Most of it is gone within the first few months, but some of it stays around for the first year :P
(And I do notice increases when I'm more active.)
