I checked my surgeon's instagram this morning and he posted another video of me!! It's super gross, NSFW, not safe for watching while eating, etc. But it's fascinating to see how the mastopexy works.

HOLY. CRAP.

That lower left picture!!!!!!!

I mean, I knew I was going in with him to have surgery but I never pictured what was happening on the table!!!! I think I thought he made some incisions, then joined the skin back together. How did I not realize there were gaping holes?!?! This is nuts! (or maybe I am nuts!)

Your breasts look amazing, even all marked up on the OR table :)

I know, right?! I looked at some mastopexy images pre-op but it just seemed like magic to me. Seeing it in action?! WOW.

And thanks! Apparently the nurses at the hospital didn't believe him when he told them I hadn't had implants. :D

I don't know...I just didn't know that's what the inside of a breast (or body) looks like. Ignorance is bliss, right? It's nuts! And yes, it truly looks great. I adore my non-implant breasts he made me, even 2 years later...they are so perky!

Gwen, that is just FAB-U-LOUS! I'm gonna have to save that link. What a wonderful way to rebuild a breast and not 'cheat' with an implant!!! No wonder you are so tickled!! I would be too...

Thanks! I definitely don't consider implants to be a cheat, but I was thrilled to know that I'd get good results without them. One of the surgeon's comments on the Instagram link was basically "if you like the way your boobs look in a bra, you have enough mass to not need implants." That's reassuring, I think :D

I can't wait, I'm having my lift in April. I will not get implants, the surgeon assured me he would not take 1 more gram than he needs to. Yours look really good!

How much did you lose in cup size?

Thank you! I hope your surgery goes super well too :)

It's hard to say about cup size, especially right now, so I'll tell you what I do know. So.. cup size is related to band size. Prior to the mastopexy/UBL I was wearing a 36DD which fit really well. However, my underbust measurement was 32". I couldn't wear a 32 though, because of all the excess side/back skin.

I have no idea what my current bra size will be because a) still swollen and b) not allowed to wear "real" bras for a while. I have to wear wire free sports bras for some number of weeks and I'm advised to not wear an underwire bra (or invest in nice bras) for 10-12 weeks. I'm hoping to wait until March because my local speciality lingerie store gives a nice discount during your birthday month. I doubt I'll be able to deal with uniboob for that long though....

When I asked my surgeon pre-op if he could predict my future cup size, he said, "probably a small C?" I'm currently wearing random small wire free sports bras with zipper/hook front closures.

So.... yeah. Ask me again in a few months when the swelling has mainly dissipated and I can take actual useful measurements. :D

I was REALLY worried pre-op because, I'm sure like many of us, my BIG BOOBS have been one of those defining features of my body. So it was a little scary to think of not having them. But then I came to the realization that my new boobs would be proportionate to my new body and, for some reason, I've always had C in my head as "normal boob size for normal women." That was a big epiphany for me. Like.. oh! I'll have this normal boob size because, OMG, I'm normal sized!

(I hate using the word "normal" here, because it implies that different is abnormal which is completely NOT the case, but when it comes to how I think about my own body.. sigh.)

let me know once your swelling is gone and you are into bra's. I'm currently wearing a 32DDD. I can stuff into a DD if it is a stretchy unlined fabric. My underbust measurement is 31 so in the correct band size. My surgeon said I'm a C not a DDD, that may be his way of easing me into my post surgery size, cause definitely not a C. I'm having mine done at the same time as my LBL.

I had a reduction at 16 and was a D/DD after that, I was also the same weight I am now. but having aged 30 something years and had a baby, boobs change. My lift will be a little more complex because of the prior reduction, but the surgeon said he'll use my same scars to do the lift.

I'm having a breast lift with Dr. M in January. Currently, I'm wearing a 34DD bra in Victoria Secret, but those are a little big in the cup now. My rib cage measurement is more like 32". Dr. M said he thinks he can make me a middle/large B cup and I have opted not to have implants. My body shape is very "athletic" and I think it will fit my frame.
