Recurring Cysts on Incision Line of Breast Lift/Implants

I have had more than 6 episodes of a cyst like boil looking thing on the same area of the seam between my areola and breast skin on the right breast right along the incision line.

Twice I went in to see my surgeon, once right after surgery and once months after. Both times he put me on antibiotics and said it was a stitch getting infected and would resolve.

This week I had this happen again and two 'cysts' drained yesterday. It is really painful and upsetting. Not sure why it keeps coming back and happening again and again so many months after surgery. My PS was in Oct 2016. In between these bouts of swelling and draining, the incision is totally healed and looks normal.

Has anyone else had issues like this? Any ideas what would cause that? Tips?

Thanks,

~Elizabeth

I did not experience that with my BL but wanted to let you know that people often post questions like this on RealSelf.com and different Plastic Surgeons would reply with thoughts/possibilities. That might be a place to start. Maybe even adding a close up photo of the cyst (with nipple blanked out) along with the question would help them to provide insight. take care.

I am sorry that this is happening. I had BL with fat xfer(not implants) but I did have the "donut" lift around the areola. I would not be happy if this kept happening to me, so I can support you in that way, but I do not have any suggestions. I think the other poster's suggestion to check out real self is a good one.

Thia is pretty elementary thing to check and you prob already have, but do your bras fit properly? Could there be any rubbing, etc. That is the only thing I can think of and you have prob already checked. (and, at the rick of being crude, no more rough sex)

Hang in there. IMHO, PS is ore invasive than the WL surgeries, so complications are more of a pain.

I'm so sorry this is happening to you. It seems as if he left the tail of the suture to long or your body is spitting the suture . Mine didn't do it quite that badly but i did have what they call minor suture spitting . I hope that you find relief soon. My incision began opening in the same spot you are describing and the ONLY thing that healed it up was the dr prescribed me the old timey mercurochrome . It healed it up completely !
