Belly button
I should have asked my surgeon but I forgot since he said my belly button was looking the way it should.
So.... how long before my belly button stops looking gross? My instructions are to clean it, bacitracin it twice a day and I loosely tape a Kotex pad over it so it doesn't ooze on anything.
Nothing else is oozy, just my belly button. (For what it's worth, it's my original belly button. If that matters.)

It's funny since I posted this last night and this morning I thought "wow, my belly button is looking a lot better!"
And I LOVE the compression gear. I ordered a second set that will arrive today so I can wash/dry one set while wearing the other.
I wonder what the thigh garments will be like? And the UBL/breast lift ones?
and did your tummy look lumpy and bumpy in the first few weeks? I tell myself this is normal due to swelling, but it's hard not to be a wee bit paranoid!!

I barely looked at myself until week 3... it was all too weird. I don't remember my belly button being an issue at all, are you been having to do anything to it... But I could just be a medication LOL. But it looks great now

I'm using the ones my surgeon gave me - I just bought a second set of the exact same ones. (You might want to check with your surgeon, they might have a preference or a deal code for a certain vendor.)

honestly, the ones that my surgeon uses are a huge pain in the ass because they don't zip or buckle, but stretch over the torso and then you wear a compression binder on top if it. I'm looking at getting the base piece that will zip up to make putting it on a little easier.
Thanks for the links. I'll check them out.
Interesting. I wore basically ace bandages of varying sizes until my first follow up which was 6 days post-op. I didn't get actual compression garments until that follow up.
The ones I have are really awesome since they're hook and eye but then a zipper on top. They're like hard core spanx :D

Ow! Just looking at your arm compression makes me wince! My armpits were so sensitive for the first three weeks that I'd never have been able to tolerate those the way they cut under your arms. Ow. Now I understand why my surgeon gave me the one he did, especially considering my extended incisions.
I'm really hoping bottom my compression comes with straps for my LBL. I'm still traumatized by a lifetime of everything rolling down because of my abdomen flab, so I can't imagine that not happening... even if I just had all that flab removed!
