How much does excess skin weigh, typically?

I'm curious for those who have had plastics done, how much did your weight decrease afterwards? I'm trying to figure out if I should amend my goal weight to account for how much excess skin weighs.

It varies a lot from person to person. The skin doesn't weigh much, it really depends on how much fat is removed with it. I don't think it will effect your goal weight.

Everything I've seen here is that skin doesn't weigh much at all, so I wouldn't plan on plastics reducing your weight.

However, when I read back through the old forum posts here, I see people posting about how "the doctor removed 22 pounds!!!" I assume that this is also fat being removed. And, really, you don't want the doctor to have to remove a lot of fat/do a lot of lipo since that'll damage your lymph system depending on how it's done.

My plastic surgeon told me I could expect to have around 5 pounds removed by surgery.

For most of us it is 5-10 pounds tops. Skin does not weigh much. I think mine was 5, but cannot even remember anymore. Our weight seems to even out afterwards so not much a change is usually seen on the scale.

For my TT took off 5 lbs but really did not see the scale move. Unless you have a drastic amount of skin you wont really see a difference unfortunately.

I was curious about this, as well. I do have a lot of fat trapped under my loose skin (have a giant "pooch" between my belly button and pubic area), and am getting lipo on my flanks. I am thinking I'll likely see the number on the scale decrease around 5 lbs once it's said and done.

But then again, I'm also getting boobs so that may negate that. :P

Not as much as you would hope. But I had my worst problem areas taken care of, so a few pounds really appeared like 20 because it came off my saddlebags and underarms.

Ps - My saddlebags lipo got injected as part of my breast lift, so that was just a tradeoff.

My skin weighed 9 pounds I really didn't have much fat I did have lipo on my thighs but had that put in my butt (not sure how much) but I had a lower body lift, long thigh lift, arm lift, breast lift and implants I'm 3 weeks post op and with swelling I weigh 1 pound more than before I started. I was amazed it weighed that much

I am six weeks post op and weigh 11 pounds less than when I started. Between skin loss and the extra calories I needed while healing, I lost weight.
