As far as I know OHIP will cover a panni if there is evidence of rashes, if the skin extends past the groin area. Not all plastics surgeons deal with OHIP, so you have to find one that will fight for you. The panni removal does not include a tummy tuck, just the loose skin.

Referral to Guelph Feb/13, Sleep study and all bloodwork and ultrasound May/13, orientation July/13. Nurse, NUT,SW Sept/13, 2nd NUT, nurse and SW, 3rd round and cleared for surgery Dec/13. Pre-op Apr 7/14, Surgeon May 2/14, Opti Jul 3/14, surgery Jul 17/14.

i am aware of the panni operation my point is that surgery is superficial it dose not fix all the damage dose not fix any of the damage .

If there is not a medical reason for plastic surgery then health plans/insurance will not cover reconstruction. It isn't discrimination as much as it is deciding what is medically necessary and what is just for cosmetic purposes. If you are having medical problems such as skin being so thin it tears easily or constant infections then you should be able to get it medically covered.

Just my opinion.

I have great health insurance but post weight loss plastic surgery isn't covered unless it's medically necessary. So basically, if your gut hangs to your knees or you're tripping on your own boobs, you can get surgery. The rest of us need to pay out of pocket.
