Has anyone here has work done by this plastic surgeon?

Hadassah Hospital graduates some of the best reconstructive surgeons in the world. I am checking his CV. Any thoughts?

I did a search of the plastic Surgery forum and the whole site and don't see any reference to him... so it doesn't sound like he has been a commonly used surgeon.

I did 5 Plastic Surgery consults and they are all nice, they are trying to sell themselves... the question is how much of their practice is on people with massive weight loss? Can they show me befores and afters of people who look like me?

I always say the quantity and the quality of our skin is different and more challenging from years of Morbid Obesity.

The only other place I can say to look is the Real Self website that has plastic surgeon reviews. I found that helpful.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I originally found him in this website:

http://www.whatclinic.com/cosmetic-plastic-surgery/mexico

But, let's face it, glowing "five star" online reviews are always a bit suspect.

I want a qualified reconstructive PC who does surgery in a hospital. It's harder to find one than I thought.

All Dr Gutierrez's certifications are in order (and quite impressive) and his office person sent me recent references. One of the partners in my husbands office can do the surgery but this isn't a little nip and tuck situation. DH, who also did his plactics fellowship at Hadassah, is the only reconstructive/trauma surgeon in the practice and he isn't going to be doing my surgery.

Reconstructive surgeons and micro surgeons charge much higher fees that other PC specialist and Dr Gutierrez is no exception, but it will still be 1/3 the cost of the same surgery in the US.

This is a huge thing for me so I am really hoping to get some feedback that doesn't come from an advertisement or a reference that isn't provided by his office.

I not even to my goal weight yet so I have plenty of time for responses.

I second NYMom's advice to find someone who specializes in plastics after massive weight loss. Our skin is a lot different.

From what I can tell of your posts, you will do a lot of research before choosing (I mean this as a compliment, because it is) so I'm sure you'll find someone with the expertise you're seeking!

You may want to check over on Dr Sauceda's group here on OH. Dr Sauceda OH Group

Dr Sauceda will be in Chicago June 24 and 25 and will be doing consults. You'll also get to meet some of his post ops.

Thanks. I already read posts in that OH group. Dr Saucers is on my list.

I read an article that says that almost half of the plastic surgeons in Mexico are not board certified But I finally figure out how to verify certifications and society memberships. That's a big thing for me.

I also want a Dr who closes external incisions using glue/ tape. It results in a much finer scar.

Yes! My Doctor used glue and my scars are amazing... If you go back in this forum...last week sometime someone asked people to post pics of their arm scars...I posted mine and at not even a year out you can barely see them....
