I rented a sit to stand recliner from a medical supply store. It cost about 100 dollars for the month, but it was SO worth it.

If you are cooking for yourself, make sure you have lots of easily prepared foods available. I was pretty low enegery for the first few days after surgery.

You may want some protein shakes on hand.  It will be hard to eat with the binder compression on small tummies.  I had a lower body lift, breast lift, arms and small thigh.  Pillows helped.  Didn't like the recliner.  You may want to do some core work before surgery.  I was off for 8 weeks.  Don't lift over a 1/2 gallon of mil****il cleared by your surgeon.  Up your protein now, and for 2-3 months after for healing.

Are you saying you were off work for 8 weeks ?    My dr said to plan for 2-3 weeks but I have a desk job &  having LBL

I had a lower body lift, breast lift, arms and small thigh and 4 days later a full facelift.  I took off 8 weeks to recoup.  I was also 59.

Sitting for long periods after LBL isn't helpful.  Fluid has to move.  If you are going to sit, I'd get up every hour and walk around your chair.

I'm so glad I found this website. I'm having abdominoplasty with panniculectomy and lipo in February, and would be interested in any other tips people have for post-op recovery.  At the moment I'm seeing a personal trainer in order to get myself as strong as possible and lose the last 15 pounds.

Any suggestions for clothing? I plan to be out of work for at least two weeks, then may do part time in the office for a bit. I'm guessing I will need things that fit very loosely and are easy to put on.
