Compression garments that do NOT fit
I'm now at a month in compression garments and may have awhile yet, so I have altered my vest with sleeves and sleeves to fit better. I found hook and eye tape - 8.00 per yard, in white or black. I need small arms (for arm lift) but a medium chest (I have a big rib cage) and the small vest was a tourniquet!!
For just the arm sleeves, I used the tape it to sew another 2 rows of hooks to make the arms fit smaller over the back and not be baggy.
I also split the vest in the back and sewed in 4 rows of eyes and a row of hooks to make the 'small' vest fit like a medium through the chest.

It doesn;t show in the pictures, but the tape already has the soft fuzzy backing and the row of eyes has a split front, so you can just sandwich the existing fabric in and sew it up. They also have every kind of bra extender you can imagine.

The above link is the vest that I inserted an extender in the back to make it fit bigger around the chest.
The other alternative is to get a custom made garment - medico has an upcharge of 50% for custom garments. If I knew this right after surgery, I would have gotten one. As it is, I have 2 of each- upper and lower - so I am OK. But I wish I would have looked into a custom garment sooner. I think because it's summer and it's hot that an ill-fitting comp garment is more of a pain than it would be in the winter.
