How do i get out of bed with posterior incision?

I'm having posterior body lift on Friday (think back half of LBL) and am wondering literally how to get out of bed. I don't have a recliner so will recuperate in bed. What method did you use to get up without pulling that backside incision? Any other tips or tricks to help my recovery? I will have a compression garment and drains to contend with. Thanks!

I ended up getting a used recliner. What I love about it is that it supports my backside. I am 5 days out from an LBL and there is no way I could get into a bed.
Sorry

Cindy - Why did you write that you were sorry? I think it was great that you posted just 2 days after your surgery. I hope I recover so quickly. (You actually took some advice and got a recliner pronto - versus all the people who just argue against the sound advice they are given. - Good for you. Used or new an recliner can be HEAVEN after a surgery.)
Best Wishes for a speedy recovery.

Just a typo. I had a rough night, probably because I got 3 drains pulled and felt like I was superwomen only 1 week postop from a LBL and deciding I need to go shopping not at 1 store, but at 2. I ended up home and napping for 3 hours.
Anyway, I crawled into my own bed late morning about 6 and found a comfortable position - slept wonderful. Think I will try that tonight.

HI Cindy
I usually don't post, but like reading about everyone's successes!
congratulations on your weight loss & lbl I just had to laugh I just had a panniculectomy on June 20 & did same thing as you I felt great after having 3 of 4 drains removed. Then went to 3 stores by that night I had quite a bit of pain & my drainage tripled! So we have to remember we are not superwomen

You are so right. This surgery is teaching me I need to take a break. I do any errands in the morning. Then I go home and apply ice. I get up again and do some activity. Back down to rest and ice. I am now back to sleeping in my own bed on my side curled up. I have take a nap over the last 2 daYS.
So we are no superwoman and need the time to recovery.
I just got an electric recliner on craigslist - I'm having upper body work on Friday. I'm so tired of sleeping sitting up in a beach chair.. The chair tilts up so that it half stands me up.
The back popped off the recliner so I could put the back in my back seat and the base in my trunk. I rented a rug cleaner and cleaned it. I wish I had it for my shoulder surgery.

I had posterior lift with autologous butt implants. I slept in bed lying on sides. Pillows supporting back, between legs. Even found self on stomach. To get out of bed roll to stomach, slide legs over side, use arms to help stand up. I did not find sitting comfortable for the first couple weeks but that was most likely due to implants. Within 2 weeks was back to driving

Thank you for this information. It is what I was seeking. Did you have any issues with drains as you were rising from bed? I believe I'll have one on each side on the hip. thanks!

I had a drain each end of incision line. Normally surgeon would have put in perinium area to hide scar but fromm past experience with tt way to sensitive area. The drains did not bother me. I did not have to wear comppression garment either. Overall pain was not too bad. Did have a couple areas that took little longer to heal. One right above ****yx.
