question about breast lift and armpits

So, for those of you who've had a breast lift but haven't had their arms done, does the surgeon usually take some skin out of the armpits?  Honestly, I can live with my arms, but my armpits are like two crumpled paper bags, especially when I put a bra on.  If a breast lift would take care of this, at least a little, then I won't even think about having my arms done.

Think it depends on your surgeon. My lift was jusr an anchor incision and did not extend past the breast. On one side I do have more skin than the other side. The surgeon said he could extend the incision to the side to remove. If you have a lot of side boob may the the surgeon could extend up the side of your breast. Usually you see that with brachioplasty and breast lift. A pure breast lift the incision goes around aerola if needs to be downsized then down to breast fold with horizontal incision that does not extend past breast.

My surgeon combines the breast lift with upper body lift which addresses the underarm area. HERE is his explanation and before/after pics. I already had my arms done when I got my breast lift, but my incision does go from my areola down and then outward. It did get rid of some of the skin in the underarm area. You should get a consult to see what your surgeon says. They all have different ways of doing things.

They do all have different ways of doing things, but that doesn't mean it can't be done. You should express your concerns at a consultation. It maybe an add on financially...but you should do it if it is important to your overall satisfaction.

I highly recommend more than one consultation, I learned a lot about the differences going to several... I did 5, a little overkill probably but 2 were via phone, and at the prices of the first three, I wasn't getting surgery...They were all very nice ...but too high $$...So I kept on going.

Dr. Capella, and Dr. Michaels were the last 2 and became my short list. After talking to 2 local Surgeons- who were very good and the heads of Plastic Surgery for their respective hospitals- I realized Very Good wasn't good enough, having a specialist was important to me. We have more challenges with the quantity and quality of our skin... I also spoke to Dr. Katzen in California - He is a well known specialist as well, but his prices were significantly higher and with the added cost of travel it was a no go, I had an informative conversation with him, and he was very nice...but his office wasn't very good at answering my emails and questions.

Not sure why I felt to add all that... best thing is to get a consultation. I started with Dr. Katzen on the phone- I really thought he would be the one because I had read up so much on him... phone was really less intimidating.

Is it your actual armpits or side skin that hangs over the side of your bra a few inches down from your armpits? When you have your consult ask about that - one doc called it lateral chest.

This is why posters talk about having multiple consults because there are different approaches to our very unique bodies.  It's not like a PS who does 5-6 upper eye lifts a week and there are only a few variables but the approach is the same. Esp for Upper body work on women.  I think there are lots more options.

I had a breast lift and Dr Sauceda came out another inch or so to the side of the breast, but it wasn't enough to get all the side boobage.  I went back 2 yrs later for an upper body lift for my upper back and side boobs.

I think most surgeons would consider a breast lift complete with an anchor scar at the most (a lollipop scar for a smaller breast lift)  They would not really go into the armpit area without additional discussion (and prob $$$).
