14 week update LBL, Arms and Breasts with Dr. Capella
It's been 14 weeks since my LBL, Arms and Breasts with Dr. Capella.
At my 12 week visit, he said I could go back to exercising fully. I'm not sure if that is why my scars seem redder now? More blood flow? All scars seem wider and redder, and the back side (I don't have a good pic) is still the worst. Still peeling, scabby, healing. Argh.
All in all I am definitely happy to have done all and grateful for being more comfortable in my body. I'm looking forward to warmer weather and enjoying summer! I'm starting to make peace with what remains (flaws-big back and jiggly thighs, heavy legs), and now focussing on exercise, to see what I can do to make things look better. I am so much happier in my body than I was at 260lbs, with limited choice in clothes, and sometimes paralyzing self critical thoughts that kept me from wanting to socialize or go out at all, to say nothing of the huffing and puffing, and lack of energy!
Tomorrow I have a check up with Dr. Inabnet, who performed my roux en y revision in October 2013, so I guess I'm in a reflective mood :-)
You look amazing! Your scars look a little red, but healed, and will get lighting and thinner with time. Congratulations, you are going to have an incredible summer.
5' 5" tall. VSG on August 4, 2015/ Starting weight 239.9/ Surgery weight 210.9/ Current weight 137.4/ Goal weight 140/ No longer overweight, now a NORMAL weight. Now that I'm at goal, it's time to move on to maintenance!!!!!!!!
congrats, no it is normal for scars to get darker up to about 6 months, then lighten and since Dr Joe uses a pucker stitch....the incision will be very small and difficult to find in about 18 months at full maturity
If you have a specific question for me, PM me or I will not see it, as I don't check responses on the forums and don't have anything forwarded to my email.

Wow excellent work. The scars will get a bit redder but will fade in time. Make sure you follow the Dr's orders on aftercare of them. I hope to have some of those by the fall if all goes to plan. tummy and thighs in the fall followed by the arms as soon as he will allow after that.
Congrats it has to be a great feeling and the result is fantastic. Keep up all the great work!!! Rich
