I live on Long Island. Where do you live? I had my lower body lift on 2/29/16 with Dr. Joseph Michaels in the DC area. Next Monday is Part 2 - arms and breasts. I do not in anyway regret traveling- He is awesome. My results are amazing. Willing to share more if interested.
My runner up was Dr. Capella in Northern Jersey. I am confident I would have had a good result with him too. He is just over the GW Bridge.
I did 5 consults - 2 local and 3 with surgeons who specialize in Massive Weight Loss Patients. It is considered a specialty. The 3rd Specialist I consulted with is Dr. Katzen in California. Going to California was too much of a stretch. After the 5 consults I decided I wanted someone who this was their specialty.
I live in Stony Brook area. My surgeon recommends Dr. Kneesy- although I don't know anyone who has gone to him. A few people I know have used and seem happy with Dr. Sami Kahn at SBrook. They all had good insurance though...

Hi
I would love to see pics if you care to share. Can I ask why you didn't have the arms done with the breasts and make it one big surgery?
Is it cheaper to go out of state? Can I ask what they charged you or what Dr Capella charges? Dr Capella has an office in Manhattan by the way.

Dr. Capella only uses the Manhatten office for consults. You still have to go to Northern Jersey for appointments and he operates out of Hackensack Medical Center. Honestly from Long Island It was just as easy to drive to Jersey as he is not that far over the GW, and I could get an appointment sooner.
Dr. Capella and Dr. Michael's quotes were in the ballpark of what I was expecting. My first 3 quotes were so high, I didn't think I could do it...
I also had a hernia that needed repair. It was supposed to be small, but when Dr. Michaels got in there it was large-took him 2 hours. Originally I was having LBL and breast lift together, but had already been under anesthesia 8 hours, and he knew I already had my arms scheduled, so he put off the breasts. How much he will do together depends on the amount of skin you need removed. Everyone is different. There is one person on here that he did LBL, arms and breast together.
Dr. Capella will do it all together, although he does prefer to break it up. I think if you are traveling he is more willing. He does have a surgical PA that works with him, so he can do the surgeries in less time.
I am glad I didn't have it all together, especially with the hernia. I don't know how I would have managed if I couldn't use my arms.
Dr. Michaels was slightly more expensive, not because of his fees but because one surgery vs. two does up the operating room and anesthesia. But he did work with me on price. If I had chose 2 surgeries with Dr. Capella they probably would have been close to identical.

Hi Cynthia
Thank you for all your information. I have 2 appointments scheduled, one for tomorrow and the other for May 13th (the one for May 13th is with Dr Capella). I'm looking for a LBL and to have my arms down also. Of course my husband would love the breasts but I'm not sure about that yet.
I'm gonna text you shortly from my phone so that you can share the pictures.
Do you work? And if you did how long were you out of work?
Hey there. Just wanted to add that I had my entire body done with Dr. Capella - a LBL, Arms, and Breast Lift about 18 months ago and a thigh lift/LBL revision about a year ago. I could not say enough wonderful things about Dr. Capella, Scott (his PA), and his staff.

Two separate surgeries with multiple procedures in each mentioned above. Total cost was about 25k!

Hi Nikke,
I just looked at your progress pictures, and you look GREAT! Your scars healed up beautifully, and your body looks near perfection! I am so happy for you.
I did a Fleur-de-lis tummy tuck, and I am delighted with how my tummy looks, and how well the scars faded. But sometimes I wish I had done a little more, especially the arms, thighs and breasts. Maybe I'll do more in the future.
Congratulations on your excellent work losing and maintaining the weight loss. I so appreciate your sharing your pictures. It really helps others know what is possible.
best wishes,
Carol
