Drains. Drains forever.

Had TT on 12/30 and for the most part, things have gone well. Except for the fact that I STILL HAVE DRAINS. 39 days and counting. He won;t take them out until I'm getting 25ml or less per drain per day. I'm still in the mid 30's, although one drain has dipped down into the mid-20's a couple of times. They aren't painful, but they are annoying as all get out. I've gotten to be quite the master of dressing myself so as to disguise them, but it's starting to **** me off that I can't even really go shopping for new clothes!

I just want them gone. No one seems to be able to give me an answer as to why I am still draining, except to say that my drainage is "unusually persistent."

OMG!  I can't imagine having drains for that long.  You have all my sympathy, Dev :-(  Of course if you're still having that much drainage you don't want them pulled because you can end up with much, much bigger problems.  Still....sucks!

OUCH!  I had two of mine from the LBL for 21 days, and I thought that was way long.  But better drains than seromas.  I recommend waiting another month before clothes shopping anyway.  You'll still have some swelling going on.

Swinging chickens for your drainage to drain away to nothing!

I'm so sorry. What a pain! But agree that having the drains now is better than a seroma later. Hang in there! In the scheme of things this will be a blip of time.

So sorry to hear this!! They are a pain, but they should definitely stay in until you aren't putting so much out. It's frustrating that they can't tell you why that's happening... hang in there!!!!

Mine were in for a long time -  not that long... so here is my advice --

Drink a ton ton ton of water.

Rest.

Seriously.

The more you move the more they drain.

That is a long time to have the drains... hang in there. I'm sure he will remove them soon. Take care of yourself and get plenty of rest.
