Made my decision...
After much talking and processing, I made my decision. I am going with Dr. Michaels in DC. I am going to say, I know I couldn't have gone wrong either way...Dr, Michaels or Dr. Capella. They both seemed great, and had very on-the-top-of-things offices. A few things swayed my decision. Dr. Michaels somehow augments your breast with your own fat. I have never been flat chested and realized I was afraid of this and didn't want implants. He also uses less drains, and you only have one week of them not 2. The 2 other main reasons are less medical. Dr. Michaels had a date available that fit better with the rest of my life schedule, and second we just hit it off. I felt very comfortable with him. Dr. Capella was willing to do it all in one surgery so his price was a little lower. But Dr. Michaels did work with me. I liked that Dr. Michaels was a stand up guy and wasn't afraid to complement his competition. He said to me, "You couldn't go wrong with Dr. Capella."
Now the only wrench in the works... I called my docs office where I see my nurse practitioner and she left. They haven't replaced her yet. They said call back first week of February, but that is when I wanted to have my pre-op appointment. ugh! stress....

Exciting! My surgeon's office recommends Dr. Michaels. (My surgeon is in Virginia, so Dr. Michael's is local for me.)
Some day, when I've finished paying college, I hope to use Dr. Michaels too :D

That is so great you are close to him. Not an easy decision. What helped me realize I was ready was going for body fat testing. It made me adjust my goal weight higher. All those years of carrying around and extra 200lbs built my muscles up more than I thought.....

They give you your lean body mass = bones, organs, blood and muscle. I had it done by dexascan, so it was really detailed. I had higher than average muscle mass. my lean body mass was 145.2lbs. (I am 5'11") I had originally set my goal as 170 because that was at the top end of the BMI chart for my height. 170 would be like 17% body fat on me, as long as I don't lose muscle mass.
My 'fat' head thinking kept thinking the Plastic Surgeons were going to tell me I needed to lose more weight. None of them did, they all said I was an excellent candidate. Go figure....
