I've been searching the forums , can't find this topic. How long after rny surgery should plastic surgery be considered?

Wait until you've maintained your goal weight for 12 months.  I promise you that during the first (and second) year of maintenance, the remaining fat redistributes itself and you will notice differences in how you look.  Things tighten up, fill back out, etc.

In my case, my boobs filled back in and are OK, my arms tightened up fairly well, face and collarbones stopped looking so gaunt.  You could certainly go around before that and get consultations and prices.

Just don't jump to doing plastics until you've had a good solid year of maintenance under your belt.  Plus losing (or gaining) after plastics will impact your final look in a negative way.

I had my first one 18 months post op.

I would make sure you lost as much weight as you can.

Some plastic surgeons want you to maintain your weight at least 6 months before getting plastic surgery. A small gain or loss can mess up the results.

Personally, I had my arms done as soon as I got to goal. I could not live with the old lady arms a minute longer. I figured if I lost or gained a few, my arms would not change much. I did wait until almost 3 years post-RNY to get my lbl/bl. I wanted to make sure I could maintain my goal weight.

I am almost 17 months out and am looking now. I was thinking 'soon' but what spurred me to move was finding out I had a hernia. hernia will get repaired at same time I have body lift or abdominaplasty. (i don't know how to spell that ...LOL) So far 3 consultations and so far no one has said to me I'm not ready, or it is too soon. One Doc did ask me if I was still losing weight, and I said about 2lbs a month. He said that was fine...
