sharp shooting pains 8years post abdominoplasty

Has anybody else had sharp shooting pain in area of plastic surgery? I am 8years post op. Does it really take this long for nerves to regenerate? Dr said would last about 18 months. I scare people when I scream cuz it hurts so bad. Only lasts a few seconds but painful. Is this normal?

I'm 6 years post op and still get some zingers every once in a while.
