Scar cream/ointment
My surgeon recommends using 100% silicone... you can find it in strips and in gel form. For the TT I would suggest the gel.. I liked the strips for the BL. The strips come in different sizes, you can cut and are re-usable a few times.. just wash in between (they come with instructions). I order mine from Amazon.
My current surgeons office sold something in house, it was 100% silicone gel but also included built in SPF. I just put my SPF on after the gel dries.. much cheaper.

I also used something with a silicone component. Kelo-Cote was one I looked at. I ended up getting one that started with an S (not Scar Zone though) maybe Scarderm (??) and it was in a reddish/orange box at Shopppers Drug Mart. Think it was around $20. It is sticky a bit and you have to rub it in. I usually react to everything, but this seemed to be OK for me.
Hope you are healing well,
Kristie
There are dozens of scar treatment remedies out there and none work reliably in all patients. The process of massage (versus what you massage it with) probably is a big factor. The only real research I am aware of in on Embrace. They tried it on one side of a tummy tuck scar but not the other and then showed photos to people who didn't know what they were looking at. 99% agreed that the Embrace-treated side was better. It takes pressure off the scar which removes the stimulation for thickening. I have been impressed by it.
