panniculectomy
Has anyone had a panniculectomy pre op? Im scheduled for mine the 26th and cannot really find to much info on panniculectomy before wls. If anyone has your input would be greatly appreciated. What was recovery like? Did you have complications due to excess weight? How long was recovery? I know everyone s different but any feedback is great.
Make sure he or she plans to lift your mons pubis. Traditionally a pannulectomy is not attractive - it's basically "cutting off the pannus" and nothing more. The belly button is not repositioned and no muscles are tightened and the upper tummy is not pulled down. Ask lots of questions and know exactly what his results look like. There is a big different between a tummy tuck or abdominalplasty and a pannulectomy. Know the difference and be aware what that means to your particular surgeon. I have seen very few that didn't look disfigured and unsightly post op. Most who have the option to upgrade to the Tummy Tuck do - the extra money is worth it.

Please let your surgeon know that so he he it makes your incision higher than usual so a tummy tuck is possible. Most pannulectomies are not able to be fixed into a tummy tuck later.

I'm doing great. I had mine on 05/26. So far so good. I had 18lbs removed. Only one drain which I believe my surgeon will be removing today. I was so worried about the aftercare but so far my incision looks great no infection and staples are holding nicely. Pain has been very tolerable. I'm still on pain meds to control it. I slept in my bed for the first time last night.
