I want to do a breast lift and the arms and a lower body lift. i'm nervous to be sedated for 6 plus hours. also fear any complications.

trying to decide if i should do it in two stages or if it truly matters from a medical standpoint. one six plus hour procedure or two 3 plus hour procedures

comments appreciated

Here's the thing, you do the LBL, and you'll need your arms to pull you up and move you around.  Your core is disabled, particularly if you have the abdominal muscles repaired.  You certainly CAN do them together, but I'd recommend doing them separately if you can manage it.

I have wondered how I would manage but yet I've read that as you say people have done it. decisions decisions

I had a LBL, and 3 months later an arm and breast lift. I could not imagine recovering from the LBL without the use of my arms.

I had an LBL and arms done at the same time and didn't have any issue at all. That being said I had worked out hard prior to the plastics and had very good leg muscles so didn't really have to use my arms to help me get up. 3 months later I did my thighs and BL w/ implants. My Dr wouldn't do the LBL & BL together (he said too much time under) or the LBL & thighs (pulling in different directions) together so that left me w/ the only option of the arms w/ the LBL.

I had a ten hour surgery that included a lower body lift with muscle tightening, breast lift with implants, mons lipo and brachioplasty.    I am about 3 and a half months out and I am glad that I did it all at once.  THe muscle tightening hurt the most and overshadowed everything else.  The arms and breasts really didn't hurt at all until my stomach started feeling better, and then I noticed it. The pain medication really makes it manageable. Lifting myself wasn't an issue for my arms because the muscles were intact, it was the stomach muscles that made it difficult.   The arms only hurt to the touch on the incision line but they were wrapped pretty well so it wasn't bad.

So you say it was manageable. Are you someone with a high tolerance for pain-like someone that would be ok with 1 Percocet and not 2 after the VSG? I am trying to get a gauge. I need every procedure done and I have that red-hair thing where I need much higher doses of anesthesia and pain medicine. And I have a low pain tolerance on top of that.

I am 2.5 weeks out from a lower body lift with butt augmentation, stomach muscle tightening and breast lift. I was under anasthesia for almost 10 hours. The stomach muscles were the only pain I had and that was only for a few days. I also cannot imagine having my arms done at the same time because although I am very fit and worked out six times a week prior to surgery, I could not sit up for a few days without pain and my arms were the only way to hoist to a sitting position.

I plan to do my arms in the Fall.

May 2.5 weeks out, my energy level is back to 90%+, I have been off pain meds for a week, and I walked 7 miles on Saturday :)Other than the stomach muscle pain for the first few days, my breasts and incisions haven't hurt at all. I do swell towards the end of the day but it's bearable. I had surgery on a Friday and was back to work (I have a desk job from home) on the Tuesday after. I did nap on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday night, one week post op, I put my drains in my pocket and went out to dinner with friends.

I dont know if my recovery was easy because I worked out a lot, believed it would be, had a skilled surgeon, or all of the above, but it was far far easier than I imagined. I worked 9 hours in our office today and then met friends for dinner and no one would know that two Fridays ago I was under the knife :)

All recovery is different and I won't lie, the first night at home was very painful. After that, it was tolerable with an OxyCodone every four hours for about the first five days. After that, Valium or Tylenol was enough.

My personal experience is that I am sooo thankful I had use of my arms. But I do wish they looked good now that my stomach, ass and breasts do ;)

Good luck whatever you decide! Different surgeons will combine different procedures. Mine won't do arms in addition to what I had because it's too much for one day. He also won't do an inner thigh lift along with a lower body lift because you're pulling different directions. He also won't do implants until one year after a breast lift and I see people here who have both at once. It varies!

i couldn't be happier. Two days of pain is well worth it so far!

Breast upliftment is very popular now days among women. so there is no any complication in it and it will be safe.

I was almost 59 when I had the works in a 12 hr twilight surgery.  I had the LBL, BL, arms and sm inner thigh.  4 days later I had a full facelift.  There was very little pain, the face lift was more painful than all the body work.  You can't stretch or over-reach with your arms, but even with abdominal tightening I was able to manage taking care of myself.  My daughter did do heavy lifting of groceries and stuff.  I did leave the dog toys on floor for a couple of weeks.  A long reach pick up tool would have been helpful.
