How many months did your swelling last post TT?

I am 5 moths post-op TT w/hernia repair and 10 days post-op internal hernia repair with adhesion removal.

In the weeks leading up to my most recent surgery I was still needing to wear compression underwear to alleviate swelling and discomfort.  Due to my recent surgery it is too uncomfortable to wear support underwear/tank tops due to the incisions.  The swelling has returned full force and I am trying to figure out if this comes from my new surgery or if it is normal to have swelling (at the scar line) this far out from the TT.

Any thoughts or experiences?  Thanks!

I am 7 months post op TT and still swell... it isn't major but if I have had a busy day my pants are much tighter at the end.

Well...crap.  I was hoping this would be over sooner rather than later!  OK - at least that makes me feel better.  Sometimes I think my body is so out of whack that I don't know what's normal anymore!  Thanks for the info... hope it ends soon for you.

A year.  After about the 6 month mark, it was noticeably less and continued to decrease.  But I FELT it, even though no one could see it.  You probably have the worse of both worlds going on with the additional abdominal surgery.

Jeeze...  I am so over it already!  I sort of feel like if I have to wear spanx-like garments this far out- what was the point exactly to this surgery???  But It is reassuring to know that I'm not special or extra lucky.  OK, I'm going to suck it up.

Thanks!

I drew the swell hell card.  I wore my body compression garment nightly (pretty much) for 2 yrs.  After my upper body lift, I went the 6 weeks and it hasn't been back on.

My gyno had a LBL and said it took her 2 years to fully resolve the swelling. I'm 6 weeks out so year definitely still swelling here! Long road ahead, hah!

I am obsessed with numbers. Immediately post-op my waist was 4 inches larger. At the end of month 1, I had lost 3 of the 4 extra inches. It took to around the six month mark to lose the last inch (I am the same size now as I was pre-plastics- did not go down even an inch).

I wore THIS for a while. I liked the hook and eye closure as opposed to a spanx type thing.
