Anything possible for calves?
I lost over 300 lbs. full thigh lift, nothing helped my calves. I consulted with 5 plastic surgeons from Florida to Malibu and everyone said the same, nothing can be done past the elbow and below the knees. There are some that have and the patient almost always ends up with lymphadema of the ankles and feet and wrist and hands. Collateral circulation is damaged.
Lost 271lbs with my LapBand in 22 months! My Band malfunctioned and I gained almost 42lbs and then revised to the Sleeve 9/24/12! I lost another 140 lbs with my Sleeve! Loved the LapBand and Lovin' The Sleeve!
Good to know. Thanks for sharing.
My legs from top to bottom are a mess, but I have made peace with them.

I think I saw one post on realself.com where a massive weight loss patient had the incision all the way down to the ankles. It stuck with me because I didn't think any surgeon went below the knees. Look under the thigh lift link on realself and see if you can find the post.
Edited to add - on realself, under thigh lift, look for the post "

If you want to maintain your calves then asking about thigh lift surgery is not appropriate. You can reduce them through calf reduction surgery. Calf surgery depends on the causes of the thickness. For example if it is a result of excess fat, liposuction can be done to trim them down to your desired goal. You have to consult a plastic surgeon personally who has done calf reduction surgery in the past. He can guide you the best.
Thickness is due to excess skin and a little excess fat. The reason why I asked about thigh lift surgery is because I'm already doing that but none of the surgeons that I've found also do anything with the calves at the same time (or even at separate times.)

Any part of the body that has loose skin can be addressed and tailored. I thighlift will do little if anything for that area. The main negative of skin excision no matter where, are the scars. Fortunately, in most cases they do heal well with time. A circumferential incision around the knee may be one alternative. There is really a great variation from where patients lose weight and have loose skin! Dr. Domanskis

How many surgeries have you done on the calves? Did it help the excess skin above the ankle?
