I had an abdominalplasty yesterday..... if you've had one can you weigh in?

This surgery is no joke.  Your skin is pulled away from your body.  Don't force anything, follow your doctor's instructions.  It may take months to be yourself again.  I think it took about 3 months before I was feeling more like myself.  The first time, I swam my laps felt very strange and that was at 16 weeks post op.  Walk like a 90 year old and just rest.

Yes pain after surgery is normal. Always ask your surgeon for medication to reduce it. You may also experience numbness, bruising and swelling for some time.

Ice, ice, ice!!!!!!  And them, ice some more!!!  Keep the swelling down which will help the pain tremendously!  And do EVERYTHING the doc tells you!
