Nervous!!! Help!!
Ok..I know it's been sometime on here but finally I am having TT done with Lipo upper and lower abs on the 20th Of Nov and I am very nervous.. I am curious to know what are some ideas of items to purchase that I wont have to be going back and forward to store to purchase and for some of you all to let me know how did your procedure went with pros and cons? I have already started by vitamins as directed and purchase additional garments to sleep in..I really appreciate it..
I am having the fleur de lies in the 21st. Great post, I would love to see the responses you get. What vitamins are you taking?

And my PCP told me DO NOT take Bromelain or Arnica since there is a rare side effect of internal bleeding. I didn't take either and I healed well and hardly bruised.

My brother in law is an anesthesiologist. I asked about these, he said its very dangerous to take bromelain anytime prior to surgery. Very high risk of bleeding, it worse than warfarin and Coumadin he said.

This was my list:
- Toilet riser - Not as helpful as I might have supposed. I used it a few days.
- Walker - Used this for a couple of days
- Shower seat - Very important. I had blood sugar drop for a while that made me woozy.
- Protein drinks
- Juven - Dunno if it helped. Probably wouldn't do that again.
- Grabber - Super important
- Pillows for recliner - Lots of them of different types to stay comfy
- power station for mini laptop/tablet/phone/remote charger - didn't want to have to bend over to plug anything in
- weekly drug holder - didn't use
- Colace - didn't use quickly enough or enough of it. Control that constipation!
- Miralax - Same
- Silicon sheet belt (for later) - Did use this. Seemed to help (Gelzone from Amazon)
- Snacks (jerky, nuts) - Yup, ate stuff
- Sports drink (recommended by doctor - going with zero cal of course). Yup
- Tshirt for under compression garb - Used a lot of T-shirts. Started with wife beaters but my shoulders still got sore from the body suit I was wearing. Went to full t with v neck and that was better.
- compression garb (furnished by doctor at time of surgery - 2 sets) - Worked well. The binder started to roll a bit out though...so it may be good to keep an eye out for additional ones
- Really tight underwear (recommended for men from my surgeon's office) - didn't get it tight enough.. wished I had. Nuff said.
- Helper for my wife for the weekend (Thanks Jen) - Helped her not freak out for the first couple of days
- Creams for my scars and new belly button antibiotics. - didn't use them for a while. Aquaphor was my best friend for quite a while.
- Antibiotic soap. - just the day before and the morning of surgery.

Please make sure that you stay active,ie move about after the surgery, even if you just move your lower extremeties to keep everything circulating and decreasing the chances of a pulmonary embolus. Also, try and keep your girdle/binder from rolling up, keeping it "flat" against your tummy. Good luck!
