Did any of you have drains for several weeks to help with the fluid/swelling? I am 2 weeks post op from a long thigh lift and still have my drains. I have to keep them until they produce less than 50cc in 24 hours. Just curious. I am worried about the things you all have mentioned happening to me when they are removed.

welling of the ankles - feet - legs; Ankle swelling; Foot swelling; Leg swelling; Edema - peripheral, Peripheral edema
Definition

Abnormal buildup of fluid in the ankles, feet, and legs is called peripheral edema.
Considerations

Painless swelling of the feet and ankles is a common problem, particularly in older people. It may affect both legs and may include the calves or even the thighs. Because of the effect of gravity, swelling is particularly noticeable in these locations.
