Panni???

Has anyone had a panni. With Medicare?? Also what are the requirements for Medicare to cover it, lost 80 lbs with band, had it removed after 5 yrs, don't want another surgery thinking if I just get rid of the extra roll it would help

In Texas and probably anywhere in the USA medicare does NOT precertify procedures including panni.  They tell the surgeon to do the procedure and then they will decide whether to pay or not. My experience is that they don't cover it and myself and my patients have been burned by this.

We have been able to get various insurances to cover especially a panniculectomy. We almost always get pre-authorization by sending letter as well as photos.
