Hello everyone!

About how did it take for your legs to stop swelling after your LBL?
My poor legs are like 3 times the size these use to be be fire surgery. Doc says I will just wake up one morning and swelling will be gone.. So I'm wondering like how long.. 3 -6 months? Had to go buy new clothes just because of thighs! Lol I've been doing everything told my doc to do. I can elevate then all day and they still are swollen from thighs to feet. I'm a month out from lower body lift. any suggestions? Thanks everyone!

I was lucky enough not to have any leg swelling from either LBL or thigh lift.  Are you wearing a compression garment?  Or compression stockings?  Or both?  It'd probably help.

I didn't have any leg swelling either. I agree that full compression stockings should help reduce the swelling.

I am just 2 months post op from my inner thigh lift with extensive lipo and the swelling (knock on wood) has not been to bad.  But I am wearing the compression thigh highs all day (except for working out, but after the shower immediately back to putting them on).  I think these are the reason.  I would look into wearing them they really do work.

Good Luck

I didn't have swelling the first week.  But after I had a bled in the left leg and the surgeon chose to let it take care of it's self I have had bad swelling in that leg.  It is twice as big as the other.  It is so bad it hurts to bend my knee.  I wore the compression garment and elevated for the first month. After that I added a TED sock on the bad foot/leg.  It helped the first couple days but not after that.  It got to hot so I gave up after two months. The surgeon said it could take six months or even be permanent.

I am two weeks out from my brachiplasty and extensive thigh / back liposuction and my feet/ankles are like two baked hams!  I'm wearing the onesie that goes from elbow to knee and knee high compression/diabetes stockings.  I'm not sure if they are helping but I am keeping feet elevated and drinking my 2 gallons of water a day and they seem to be going down a tiny bit everyday.  Keep doing what others suggest maybe increase fluids a bit to flush out any extra water your body is carrying and limit salt intake as well.  The body is so vulerable at this point because all of the energy is going to healing itself.

I had no leg swelling with my LBL.  By feet and legs were swollen twice or more their size after breast lift, implants and arm lift for about 10 days........go figure.

Thank you everyone for your help and suggestions, it's so interesting how everyone's body reacts differently to surgery.

Swollen legs are a red flag to me, and may suggest that you're having trouble regulating blood volume. That could have anything to do with the kidneys to your adrenals, but I'd get it checked out.
