Male Breast Reduction (Gynecomastia, Excisional Reduction)
Prior to WLS I had the traditional man boobs or moobs as most call them. I've had them my entire life and it's always been point of ridicule for me. Post-WLS I now have saggy man boobs, aka "smoobs". Naturally I want to fix that, but there's a significant amount of skin. I saw a PS today and he suggested the gynecomastia with excisional reduction and tumescent liposuction using a horizontal cut across the mid-section of the breast. This removes the glands and all tissues under the nipple and achieves the flattest breast. However, it also leaves scars across the breast. The alternative was to make the cut below the breast, leaving the nipple and "most" of the tissue under it intact. He explained this procedure would leave a bit of puffiness that would likely cause the nipple to protrude a bit. Perhaps that may look natural??
I'm having trouble deciding on what to do and I'm also wondering if there are any other techniques. Obviously I realize there will be scars. There's just too much skin not to have any, but I'm wondering what technique will look the best and give me a more natural male look. I was initially leaning towards the under the breast cut because I thought the scar would be easier to hide and would likely look more natural. What few pictures I can find online of this technique do not see to look very good. Are there any men on the site that have had this done or anyone that has any advice?
Just a girls point of view, I rather see a guy with out a shirt with a big scare than Moobs or Smoobs (love it). Some guys just need to wear a bra and shirt.

:D I couldn't agree more! Some of the pictures he showed me were not that impressive. I saw flatter chests, but still didn't look proportionate. And the ones that looked right had bad scars.
I'm liking what I"m seeing from this guy below though. I think I clicked on this link through OH.

Those are some great results. There's a link on there though saying that he was retiring in August of 2011. :( Maybe if you look around you can find someone else who uses a similar technique?
