Insurance approval
yayyyyyy, found out today I am approved for my fleur de lis abdominoplasty!!!! Insurance said I didnt even need preauthorization for this type of outpatient surgery and that the codes met the guidelines in my policy. I have BCBS Highmark of WV PPO
That's wonderful!!! I also have BCBS but did qualify...my issues were not my stomach but everything else that had fallen south, so I needed the full lower body lift, and so that did not meet any guidelines...I tried to stick out my stomach as much as I could when the Doctor took pictures...didn't work...Lol
I have no problem in that area, it sticks out in layers lol. I just hope I can get in ASAP as I start my Nursing classes August 18th and I need at least some time to heal before then. I hope the turn around isnt too long.
My surgeon is here in Charleston WV. And they submitted all the documentation on June 3rd. I habe been calling my insurance company every other day and finally uesterday it was done. Actually on the 14th a letter was sent to my surgeon. But i called my insurance provider
I would be wary unless you have a specific predetermination letter addressing the requested codes was received back. That usually takes 3-4 weeks and requires photos and a lot of documentation."Not needing preauthorization" is different from "we will pay for this".

It is a predetermination i just called it preauthorization. Documentation and photos were sent on June 3rd. My insurance is pretty fast getting back with me. Only took a ciuple days for my gastric bypass to be approved
