Ankle/foot swelling after thigh lift

Any surgery on your hips may cause the swelling to go all the way to the ankles and feet. Your garment may be too tight and you may still have fluid retention. You do need to be concerned that it is nothing serious like heart/lung/kidney problems. You may want to ask your plastic surgeon. Also, if you are on your feet a lot during the day, I recommend that when my patients return home to elevate your feet above the level of your heart like on a sofa back which should reduce it.
Hi Veranda,
I found your post and wanted to see if things are better for you as it will give me hope that things will be better for me.
I had my thigh lift in July 2014 and add't work to knee area in October 2014. Yes 2x for same area in 4 months.
Current problems - swelling and water collection in the knees and inner thigh; Seroma formed and now I have holes in my inner thing to allow the water to drain. Looking into the future, I just want hope that it is going to get better. Thighs are not even and look deformed.
How is your swelling? I know others who have had it for over 2 years. Sometimes post thigh lifts, swelling remains forever as your body seeks collateral circulation and is unable to recover. My friend still wears a compression stocking as her swelling remains. I hope you're doing much better and your foot and ankle are back to normal size.
