If you have used either one of these, could you tell me a little bit on how it works?

Med Loan requires and outrageous amount of money for a processing fee. For example if you need a $10,000 loan, they charge you $1,200 for the processing fee.

Any info would be helpful!

Thanks!

I used Care Credit with a 6 month free interest plan. I will transfer the balance of what is left at the 6 month mark. If you don't pay it off or transfer it within the promotion period (this time was 6 months), the interest is insane, like 26%.

Yes, 26% is CRAZY .....but I have been doing the research on it and you can choose the 14.9% interest plan if you know you have a large amount that's being financed and want to pay it over time. I think thats pretty comparable to a bank loan with no collateral.....

You are doing it the smart way to get interest free and than transferring!

I did care credit interest free for 1yr. What I noticed is that my monthly payment is $300 BUT that does not pay off the loan in 1-yr like I had expected. Instead I have to pay $600 per month to pay it off in one year. Otherwise I get hit with all of the interest! Not all surgeons participate in the interest free financing. I also believe that with some surgeons it can only cover the surgeon's fee and not the hospital fees.

Very good point about the it covering the surgeons fees and not hospital! Thanks for the insight, will have to call and ask that on Monday!

I would suggest that you go to CareCredit(there is a link on my website(surgery-plastic). Yu can apply and within minutes get an answer without any processing fee!

We were denied care credit with a credit score of over 700 and low dti, only because my husband had an old collection account from 2009 and we were shopping for a loan which showed too many pulls on our record.  We went to our credit union locally and were approved no problem for 15+.

Sounds like you took care of it. We do use other companies that have a more lenient profile but I am amazed that it was denied with CC. I would still recommend that you look into getting your procedure(s) covered by your insurance carrier which would even be better!
