Pannis Removal, Tummy Tuck, with Anchor cut

Has anyone had this done. I have a Grade 4 pannis, and a good sized muffin top with excess hanging skin. My Dr recommended do this surgery over the LBL because it will address my muffin top. He said I could do my back side and thighs later.

Has anyone had this done?
If you have had it done are you happy with the results?
I am going to be paying over 5k, on top of what the insurance will cover for my pannis.

Thanks for you help!

I'm no expert although I've had TT and BL/BR; however I went with what my HMO coverage and the PS decided for me. I did not pay any money (I live in Israel with Socialised Medicine) and I don't have money to pay privately. Now after that run-on sentence, my point is that my considerations were hoe medical competence and money.
I once read somewhere (and I have no idea if it is accurate) that on a short person ( I am 5ft/152cm tall) the panni surgery comes out almost like a TT as that when the PS cuts and removes the skin, the PS pulls the skin tight as if it was a TT. I wonder if it is true as my HMO approved me only for the panny and my PS did on me a TT. My TT removed 3K and was not circumfercial so I have a flat tummy and lifted mons and no muffin top. I still have butt and thighs and am in appeals wirh HMO and Ministry of Health.
I hope my response is somewhat helpful.

Thank you for responding. My apron is very large, it is a grade 4 pannis. It hangs mid thigh. I also have a good sized muffin top. The PS said that my mons area would not change without the tummy tuck and without the tt my belly button would be lost. He is going to try and save my bb but there is no promises.

My original WLS was a SRVG (open surgery and per many Ring) in 1002. Since then was a different Ring (VBG in 200) and then in 2008 my RnY. All surgeries were done open vertical scar.
And I scar thick and ugly especially for a white gal.
In Israel it seems that protocol is to automatically try to remove excess skin of the mons and lift it while doing a panni or TT cut as low as possible.
My daughter who was born in 1985 was cesarean so my TT scar is a drop lower. Also due to major rash and fugus there was major concern of the fungi going in to my body once the PS and team worked on me. I specifically asked for no bb so as to avoid any complication; that idea backfired in that I have no bb but that is the area that went slough and then gangrene that necessitated debridement and packing in the operation room and then the following day during Rounds it was decided that I was a good candidate for the WoundVac.
My panni according to Head of the Plastics Department was Grade 4 but when I look at my hospital photos it seems my panni went to lower than mons and partway down thighs and maybe this PS just wrote Grade 4 to help for approval when I might have been a Grade 3. Either way I applied and fought and won the HMO approval.
I never succeeded to put too many if any pics in my OH blog but I am happy to email you whatever you want or to call you.
My email is mikimidotsteinbergatgmaildotcom; just retype without the word dot in between but rather the . and at sign. I rarely turn on my computer and do most everything via my iPhone to which I am addicted.
Personally I feel that no matter which procedure, anything is better than jelly-belly hanging flapping skin against skin or skin stuck to skin. If I had money and was paying privately I might have thought differently on how and which procedure; same being true for when I had my BL/BR in that I did not want augmentation.

Thanks for the information. I guess I am just a wee bit nervous about the whole thing. I know it will be worth it but I am still freaked out.

I am also greatful about the pannis info, because I am worried that with the size of mine, I will look a little freakish. I am not as worried knowing that you are happy with your results.

Thanks for responding to my post. I am really worried about my surgery next week and have thought about cancelling it several times. I just hope it goes well. I have no idea of how I will look when it is finished but I know it will be better than right now. I just can not stand another summer dealing with skin infection after skin infection.

Have a great day.

If she sees the post, I believe ****rogirl had a two stage surgery - first the panni removed then the fleur de lis or anchor cut tummy tuck.  I can understand why your doc want to hold the butt lift until later.  You're going to have a lot of healing to do on the front!  And yeah, if you have the muffin top thing going, the anchor cut is the only way to deal with it.

Thank you I was wondering why the anchor cut was needed. I am having to pay 5600 on top of what the insurance is covering. I am really worried. I will try and post photos before and after.
