BC/BS coverage questions

The doctors office called me same place I had my rny . They asked how much I lost , I told them its been a year this April 103 lbs, lost They told me insurance BC/BS anthem covers the tummy surgery , I said I don't have boils or sores they said it cover this for tummy excess skin is this   anyones experience? they also said if you have back problems which I am disabled due to failed back surgeries , so they said it will cover this surgery , I go for a consult in two weeks , I hope I don't get there and it was a ploy to get me in then say I have to come up with losts of money after they got my hopes up any in put would be great thanks so muchh

Good luck!  Rather they cover or not will depend on your individual policy.    I find it strange that the doctor would call you and try to talk you into another surgery.  I do realize lots of barbaric surgeon do PS  but, unless they belong to the PS association that requires additional training for PS I wouldn't use them.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

My recommendation is to use only a board-certified plastic surgeon experienced in post-weight loss reconstruction due to the complex nature of tummy tuck and body lift after weight loss.

I had a TT done, and BCBS.  It covered the pannelectomy portion, but not the vertical cut to tighten the muscles.  Never talked to the doc about it helping my back- but it totally did.  Never made the connection.   BCBS for my policy needed at least 100 pounds lost for a period of at least 6 months.  I did have one documented incident of a rash that needed treatment.
