Apparently I'm getting an abdominoplasty in May

Eeeek! I can't believe I doing this. I'm excited and terrified at the same time. Haven't told work yet...will have to deal with that next week. I went in for a consult yesterday, fully planning on a breast reduction/lift and possibly brachioplasty for this year, but the surgeon found an umbilical hernia, which has actually been starting to bother me. I thought it was that I'd been using poor posture on the treadmill and on the street when running (training for a 5k), and I kept having my coach check my form during weightlifting classes. Turns out it was the hernia, because when he was poking around yesterday, that's exactly where the discomfort comes from. Guess I need to take it a little easier for a while (ha--I'm doing the 5k in 2 weeks and then the Boston MuckFest at the end of April). I'm hoping to do the Spartan race at Fenway in November, but am not sure I'll be able to train properly. Surgeon says 6 months before anything heavy-duty like that, and it'll have been over 6 months at that point, but it also takes a good 6 months to properly train for a Spartan...so I guess we'll see.

I'm still sort of in shock. :)

Wow, big step for you but good luck.  Hopefully that will address the pain you are having with the added benefit of making you feel better in clothes.  Yay for you

Thank you! Eventually the reality will set in. For now I'm still finding it hard to believe. :)
