Arm lift? Mexico?

Hi Cheryl,
I am currently in Mexico recovering from a lower body lift, small lipo on outter thigh, butt flap implant? (using my extra skin) and an arm lift. It's done by Dr. Francisco Sauceda. He has a support group on OH and you can see his website here: http://www.medicaltourism.com.mx/mtad.html
I receive daily nurse care. The first 3 days were in a clinic with 24 hour nurse care. After that the Dr. came almost daily just to make sure I am ok, and a nurse (Patty) comes daily to help you shower, dress in compression garment (it's very hard to get on by yourself since it's so tight), change the dressing and of course, making sure your wounds are healing ok. When in the clinic, you will receive food from their chef daily. They actually come ask what you like every meal and try to make something tailored to your taste. The food is ok, not bad, but obviously not gourmet. Once you are dismissed to the hotel, there's an Applebees next door that will deliver, an Italian restaurant, and a mall (within 2 mins walk) with a grocery store, Cinemark, food court (Subway, Chinese food (HUGE portions), Mexican food, FroYo places), Mickey D, starbucks and etc. There are not that many stores in the mall, and I usually go there just for my daily coffee fix, have my hair done and lunch for food court. Oh, the hotel also get deliveries from a few different restaurants.
Basically everything to fill your basic needs are within walking distance. If you really don't feel like walking, the hotel shuttle can take you to nearby places.
I am loving my new arms. I haven't seen them much due to the compression garments, but every day when I shower, I admire them...haha no more angel wings!
Please let me know if you have any questions, and I'd love to answer anything I know. :)
The only thing I wish I did was learning some basic Spanish. Almost nobody speaks Spanish, and my vocabulary is "Hola, pescado, cebolla, gracis." HAHA I get by just fine though. Don't worry if you don't speak Spanish. I just use gestures and smile a lot.

Absolutely horrible idea to get something like that done so far away from your surgeon. Complications (major and minor) with body contouring surgery on weight loss patients are frequent. Unless you have a surgeon arranged locally before hand to accept you after surgery then you really want to think twice.

I was really ready to go to Mexico! Even though the surgery was 1/2 the price by the time I added air and hotel/recovery suit to the price, the difference really dropped.
With the life threatening complication with just a face lift, I will be having all my PS done here even though higher than lots of other areas in the States. I would at least make sure I stayed near the surgeon for a long time. I also wouldn't go alone as I had planed.
Just so it's clear, my concerns are less over potential quality issues of a surgeon overseas, but more a reflection of the realities of the complications inherent with these complex procedures
