I'm very disappointed with my tummy tuck, and lipo on Monday.  Tuesday I was discharged from the hospital.  Everything went ok.  Still having pain, and the drains are putting a lot out.  I got on the scale this morning because my pants were to small  a size 12 .  I went into the closet to fine something to wear.  A size 16 pants fit very well.  Swollen and I can't wear any of my close.  Please help me.

I lived in yoga pants and sun dresses for over a month...Dont even try on anything else!! Depression does set in. I had 10lbs of skin removed from my abdomen and after surgery I still could not fit in my clothes with the swelling. 10LBS!!! I was like what the hell!!! How can 10lbs get cut off and my pants NOT FIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I was in pain, and pissed!! Finally I think 3 or 4 months out I dropped a size. But I felt like a fat cow for months! I felt like a failure, depressed, broke, and causing my family all this stress was for nothing!

Forward to now 6 months out everything is fine, I have to remind myself that my body will not be perfect, and I did go into this thinking it would and should not start trying to analyze every loose piece of skin now. I look much better with out my huge apron and clothes fit much better!! You will feel better just stop weighing yourself and trying to fit into clothes for a while.

Fluid is rushing to the area to start the healing process. I'm not surprised you can't get into your clothes.  Swelling is common and can last for weeks or months, although it will get better over time.  Stay off the scales for the first month and give your body a chance to recover.

Thank you all for your support this evening.  I'm just having a hard time with the pain ,binder, and all of the swelling that has come over my body.  I'm having to make my self eat.  I'm not hungry at all.this is where I want to isolate myself in the house.  I'm drinking my liquids and taking my vitamins.. Please keep in touch

Stay horizontal and rest as much as you can. Push protein to help healing. No one is happy at this point and you can expect to be emotional. It WILL pass.

Immediately post-op my waist was 4 inches bigger. I also lived in yoga pants and tank tops for the first month. Try to be patient.

Laura, thanks for your words of encouragement. I was freaking out in the hospital before I was discharged. The sweats that was to big when I had the surgery was to little when I was discharged. I'm so thankful to everyone that has commit about my weight gain and shared, words of  hope, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart.  just your kind words have help me so much .  I no longer get on the scale to see my weight loss.  I'm drinking all,of my liquids and resting the back.  Hopefully next week I will start my walking program.

I would like to say thank you to everyone that read my post about gaining  20 lbs after plastic surgery.  I was freakin out so bad until I made myself depressed.  I read every post about being in swell hell. I went out and bought compression garments for swelling since my doctor only supplied a binder .  Today at this moment I have lost 17 lbs of the 20 lbs I gained from having this surgery.  Friday I lost the last drainage tube.  Now I still can't wear my uniforms for work because of the swelling in my buttock area and thighs . I return to work in two weeks ,I'm hopeful that I will be able to wear my nursing scrubs .  I will be on a high protein liquid diet to help with the water weight.  Again I want to say thank you to everyone.   Glenda in Georgia
