X-Post: Mission Accomplished!!!

I have completed Phase One of  thigh skin reduction!

After getting me into surgery, and looking at the extent of work that needs to be done, my surgeon has decided to stage my surgeries.  He is of the opinion that all at once would have been too taxing to my system, since I have SLE and Fibromyalgia.

The process was not picture perfect.  My left thigh is leaking lymph fluid, and I will be gong to a wound care center every day until this heals.  The right leg is healing normally.

They don't look that much smaller to me, but contour and symmetry was what I was after, not necessarily a reduction in size.

Perhaps once the swelling goes down they will look different.

The bonus in all of this is that I was in the hospital for the duration of the polar vortex that put the Midwest and East in the deep freeze for a week!

You're back!
So your ps did lipo only?
If lipode only a certain maximum allowed per limb for our safety.
Are you in compression garment?
What is your type of treatment at the wound care center?
I was on a WoundVac for seven weeks after my TT.
In six months he will remove the excess skin?

No, not in a compression garment, it was skin excision, but my legs are wrapped in ace bandages.  No lipo, order was for excess skin & subQ tissue removal.

Pulling the garment on and off would literally rip out my stitches. (correction: staples)

There was so much to deal with that my surgeon had to change his approach, as much of the stretched out skin was too damaged to be used, so I have some darker inner thigh skin at the very top.  I

No matter to me, because I  wear knee length fastskin competition swimwear.  It helps me feel less like I'm walking around in my underwear.

Complication with the left leg - Dehisc with no "bottom".  Very deep tunnel.  A little dehisc on the right, but not so bad.

Wound care nurse coming daily...doubling up on protein, Wound Care Center suggests Arginade...I think L-Arginine will help, too. I'm already familiar with Pro-Stat.

I was nutrtionally sound before surgery, except for zinc, Vit. D and Calcium.  Still taking remedial doses of those, and increasing the shakes to   DS 1st year post-op levels.(5-8 oz shakes daily approx 36g protein each)

They were looking at using Wound-Vac but  since there was no bottom, didn't want to do that.  Tunnel too deep. For now are packing it with a treated pad and gauze.  RN will be here to tend to it daily.  The name of the medicine on the pad escapes me now, but  I'll ask the nurse tomorrow.

I'm in very foreign territory here...I've always been a good healer.
