3 weeks out of TT

I keep reading awesome stories of people not having pain after a week or two.  That is awesome for them!  I know everyone heals differently.  I have been in contact with my doctor and she said everything is ok, just feel like I'm still in a heck of a lot of pain (mostly soreness but pretty serious soreness) especially by the end of the day.  Swelling by the end of the day is pretty significant as well.  I'm not looking for horror stories, but just wanted to hear if anyone else still had the pain around the three/four week mark, and any info about the swelling.  Thanks!

I had pain and couldn't straighten up for weeks. And I was sore/swelling for months after. Doing any kind of ab work hurt. And the swelling went on for nine months or so. But it got progressively better.

Those who had minimal pain and swelling are lucky. This recovery was much harder and went on much longer than I expected.

Thank you.... It is just nice to hear that I'm not  losing my mind and that feeling like this is ok and part of the process.....

Just part of the process...stick with it & listen to your body: rest when needed, put your feet up when needed.

I had a LBL 5-1/2 weeks ago and do have some discomfort at the end of the day.  I would say it's more soreness/fullness, not pain though.  I still have a lot of swelling, but there is a noticeable difference now from a few weeks ago.  The swelling can go on for months I hear.  Your doctor doesn't seem too concerned, so that's a good thing.  Hang in there, it does get better as time goes by!

hi...sorry u r still in pain. I am 3 weeks out today extended TT with lipo on lower flanks. Let me say that once doctor got in, he did not need to do muscle tightening so that may be y my recovery was so quick. I hear that muscle tightening is a huge part of the healing process. Take care and I hope u feel better soon.

Oh yes... I had the extended with muscle tightening and I was in pain and very sore for a long time.  When I say long time... I mean the muscle tightening had me where I couldn't even do stomach exercises...

Swelling... yes..  mine was swell-hell.  It does go away though, but expect it for several more months.

I will 5 weeks post op tomorrow from a TT with stomach tightening.  I feel more swollen at night but not as bad as some have been mentioning.  However, my upper abs are still uncomfortable to sneeze or any other muscle movement.  I talked to my Dr, who also had this same surgery, and was told this is normal for a bit.  I am hoping that when I am able to do more workouts this will pass.  Right now I am walking between 1 - 3 miles a day (fast walking).

What drives me nuts is the ends of my cuts on my hips.  They itch like crazy.  I love the way the watch itches them when I shower.  I do wear a t-shirt under my binder and this does help this issue too.

Good luck to you and wish you a fast recovery.
